Emergency Food Relief
Mom's Yes We Can, a group of single mom's living in the Magada community, are in desperate need of food. Because the rains came late this year, the upcoming harvest is late and there is no food left in their storage units. These single moms live from season to season and are reliant on mother nature to do her thing. These are the people most affected by climate change. We need to provide these families with emergency food.
Breastfeeding mothers are unable to produce enough milk die to a lack of food. Families are resorting to eating one meal a day made up of porridge, ater and corn flour, lacking in nutrients. Mom's are picking cassava that has not matured yet which can cause children to get sick with distended bellies.
Both moms and children are losing weight drastically. Children are supposed to report to school starting today.Because most government schools do not provide breakfast or lunch, children will will have no food until dinner and will not be able to concentrate on their studies.
