Man of the day: Mordecai Mordecai is in pre-k. He received his own goat and in his excitement, he immediately started to walk it home. The goat is bigger than him, his house is not close but he is fearless and ready to go. |
Below are some of the 20 students at Ben David Primary School in Apac, Kiwania, Uganda, who received goats to help pay school fees.

Day 7: Buyanga Primary School Goat farm
The goat farm at Buyanga Primary School is ready for goats. The goat structure and fencing are finished. Due to the lockdown in Uganda for the past 2 years, there are nearby schools that have closed and many more students are coming to Buyanga to learn. Eventually, the school will be selling milk, goat offspring, ghee and yogurt to help fund the school farm which now feeds 1350 students and much needed capital improvements .

Day 6: Tikkun Olam Primary school
Tikkun Olam student in "baby class", or kindergarten, receiving a letter from her sponsor in the US. Part of our scholarship program.

Breakfast being cooked for students at Tikkun Olam Primary School, funded by GVC.

Day 2: Boreholes A sweet tune on a Sunday afternoon. Today we visited 5 of the 6 GVC boreholes in the Mpigi area. A huge thank you from the community members to the NADAULD family and all those who donated for funding these bore holes. |

One 20 liter jerry can of water weighs 33 lbs. This incredible girl carried 2 all the way home. I’m not sure how far she had to go but many of the girls walk 2 kilometers each way to fetch water, often twice a day. No young girl here needs to go to a gym.

What?
Please join me virtually on this Global Village Connect trip to Uganda. I'll be traveling with my friend Stacy, who happens to be a water engineer, (so great!) and we'll be stopping at many of our partner communities to meet the kids, students, teachers, farmers, headmasters and the goats, of course. Each day we'll be heading somewhere new and we'll introduce you to a new community and a new part of Uganda. At Global Village Connect, our mission is to help provide every child the opportunity for an education and nutrition through our school farms, scholarships, micro-businesses such as Give a Goat and clean water projects.
When?
Starting Sunday February 6, 2022
Who?
We're working with four primary schools and several other communities helping children get an education and an economic opportunity.
Here's some of the people you'll meet.

Hopes Uganda Meet some of the children from Hopes Uganda. GVC recently provided them with uniforms, backpacks and school supplies so they can go to school. The pandemic has taken a toll on many families and children. Hope Uganda children come from difficult living situations, many who have been living on the street. Sam Ngobi is making a home for these children and they've now started school for the first time in two years. |
